Colombia, Part 3

Image
So the Colombia post has extended to three. This last one is from my trip with Mike to Medell ín and and area to the south known as the coffee region (can you guess why?!).  View from our Airbnb in Medellín Colombian avocados are huge! View of downtown Medellíin from the Antioquia Museum more Botero! Riding a cable car towards Parqui Avi, past the hillside barrios; before the public cable cars, it would take poor residents along the hills hours to reach the central city  Filandia, near Pereira in the coffee region View from the lookout tower near Filandia (also the picture at the top) Salento The Valle del Cocora, near Solento. The valley is part of  Los Nevados National Park  and home of the wax palm tree, the tallest in the world! Can you spot me at the base of the palm tree? Finca del Cafe, a coffee farm we toured Mike and I going to work thermal hot springs and waterfall ...

From Zipaquir á, or Zipa, only 50 kilometers north of Bogot á: Entrance to the Salt Mine Cathedral; we visited on Mexican independence day Central square in Zipa Villa de Leyva, a couple hours further north of Zipa: Interior of the Museo Luis Alberto Acuña Main square with Mike The Terracotta House, made of clay From our trip to Tayrona National Park: sunset in Taganga, a town between Tayrona and Santa Marta exploring near Minca, a short drive from Tanganga Panorama from the coastline of Tayrona; the beach at the top is also in the park from my short hike in Tayrona The park is home to several indigenous groups; this was only a house for display.
